I know that many of you were wondering what happened to SPB. To be honest, the software that it was running on was completely useless and it had too many flaws in the program for me to keep up with. No matter how many times I upgraded and updated it, it was still completely useless. I know that many of you really enjoyed the message boards, and I really would like to bring them back for all of you but sadly I cannot afford to do so at this time. I will be going off to college soon and I simply do not have enough to compensate for a reliable message board for you all. I would really love to bring it back, and in order to do that it will cost about $160. I am hoping that each of you can donate so that we can get SPB back up and running again. I am only asking if you can help out to re-unite the SPW community if you can! Your donations would be highly appreciated and you will be well thanked for your kindness!

I know, it’s been a while. Since Sean isn’t up to much that gives us all the time to make a new design for the site! I will do what I can every weekend to try and get a new design up for you all and hopefully there will be a brand new one by summer’s beginning! Hopefully by then Sean will be back in action! Not sure what is going on with The Next Thing, but hopefully I will have more information for you all soon!

If you have any photographs, or information, please e-mail them to me! You can also send in LJ icons! I will be fixing the message boards as well. Please let all of your friends know that SPW is back!

Lefside aka Mr. Evil teams up with Sean Paul

Entertainer Lefside aka Dr. Evil once honed his craft as turntable selector for Sean Paul when the international toaster first hit the road earlier in his career. It came as no surprise when Lefside teamed up with Sean to record the female anthem Back it Up .

‘When I got my record deal with Sequence Records, Sean had suggested that we do a song for my album. Having Sean Paul endorse my single is a real blessing’, Lefside said in a recent interview.

The video for Back it Up was shot last week. It was directed by Kimala Bennett. Bennett has been making a name for herself on the music video circuit having helmed clips including Blaze by D’Angel; Over and Over by Tami Chynn; and You and Me Against the World by Cherine Anderson.

Said Lefside ‘I chose to work with Kimala because I have seen a lot of her video and she knows how to capture concepts. We also had Taneisha Scott who dealt with the choreography for the video’.

Back it Up according to Lefside, has been enjoying solid rotation locally and across the Caribbean. The video is a performance driven one with lots of sexy hot girls.

Hello everyone!

I apologize for the downtime. My host was having some problems with everything but that is fixed now as you can see.  I recently went on Spring Break and it’s too bad that the site came back after I left! I’ll do my best to get everything back up and running again throughout the next several weeks. Thanks for sticking with us.

Sean Paul Music Triggers Woman’s Seizures

Stacey Gayle really liked dancehall reggae artist Sean Paul’s music, but it turned out one of his popular songs was also triggering her epileptic seizures.

“It was terrible,” said Gayle, a 24-year-old New Yorker. “It didn’t even have to be that loud.”

The seizures were so bad that Gayle recently had part of her brain surgically removed in an effort to control her problem.

Gayle began noticing the connection between the seizures and the music in 2006, when one of Sean Paul’s tracks, “Temperature,” was popular. One of the first music-induced seizures happened at a cookout where the song was being played, “then it happened at a restaurant,” said Gayle.
